Military stations

Russian, CIS, Ukrainian military SSB & CW stations (including M32)

Rimantas Pleikys sent me an interesting e-mail about the Russian military VLF radio network. Excellent info, Rimantas. Thanks.

Currently the Russian navy VLF radio network consists of six stations.

RJH69 31rd communications hub, radio station Nr. 43, Vileyka / Molodechno, Belarus
RJH99 270th communications hub, transmitter Goliaf-2MK, Druzhny /N. Novgorod , Russia
RJH66 338th communications hub, Kara-Balta /Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan
RJH63 Krasnoarmeysky / Krasnodar, Russia
RJH77 Arkhangelsk, Russia
RAB99 Khabarovsk, Russia

All stations operate on 18.1, 20.5, 23.0, 25.0, 25.1 and 25.5 kHz. Power of the transmitters is 1000 kW (EIRP 30...50 kW).

18.1 kHz is a communications frequency for the circular FSK messages. The main transmission times are at h+ 08’, + 28’ and + 48’. At certain time only one VLF station is on air on 18.1 kHz. All messages are simultaneously transmitted on 10535, 12741, 14411, 14664 kHz (summer frequencies) and on 7657, 9346, 12741, 14411 kHz (winter frequencies).

20.5, 23.0, 25.0, 25.1 and 25.5 kHz are frequencies for the time and phase synchronization of the Russian naval facilities.

Schedules:
