Military stations

NOBLE MARLIN 2005, the world’s largest Anti-Submarine Warfare exercise, took place in the Ionian Sea from 3rd to 16th March. The NATO exercise included submarines, surface ships and maritime patrol aircraft from ten NATO nations.
Frequencies used: 2350.5, 2840, 3324.5, 4478.6, 4741.5, 6721.5, 5270 kHz of which 4741.5 kHz was the most active one. The stations were using the usual tactical callsigns like L, FE, GC, BF, MG, VE, BP, BC, AD, N, CF, E, FT, KF, DF, I, DC, FS, LT, FN, HD, SB, AD, D and FN.
An UK Air Defence exercise was one of a number of military exercises in March. Comms could be observed on 4718 kHz which was often used by RAF Boulmer who was working with AWACS and other stations on this frequency.
