Since mid-April a odd station pops up every now and then on 6825 kHz. It sounds quite musical. It has been heard in Europe with a good signal in the morning and between 1500-2000 UTC. Sometimes for hours.
I received a note from Dallas in New Zealand who has heard the signal between 1800-1900 UTC. He says that Radio China International has a powerful transmitter on 6825 kHz and a feeder of 10 kW on a sideband for SE Asia. It is quite possible that it is them playing around. RCI has several unlisted transmitters between 6825 and 6840 kHz.
You can find a sound sample on the N&O website.
