E06

Richard sent me a sound sample of E06 with a new voice. Nice catch, Richard.

Logged on 11 Sept at 1700 UTC on 8170 kHz, EE/OM.
ID 671 (2 messages) first 840 35 06923 etc
2nd 928 30 65452 etc, ended 00000

ENIGMA's Mike L says:

"This is a standard E6, but using an additional voice, this station has "changed" voices a number of times in the past 15 years some being very short lived while others lasted up to 2 years. It will be interesting to see how long this one lasts for. Example: I logged on 9 Aug 1994, 17.00z, 8170kHz and tagged the entry "changed voice", which I only heard once. This was pre ENIGMA Control List days when the station was variously called "English Man" or "Russian Man (in English, ending 00000)" [as it was believed to have been of Russian origin], it became E6 on the introduction of the Control List."

Thanks for the comments, Mike.

Laurent jotted down the E06 message on 3 Sept at 2100 UTC on 8141 kHz.

E25

Logged on 1 Sept, 9450 kHz AM, 1241 UTC, Arab Music Intro was there, stopped at 1243; 1244 Arab man repeats 227 26 220 27, nothing else. Ended at 1247 UTC (carrier down).

The next day, Tuesday 2 Sept at 1239 UTC, E25 was back on the same frequency. Manolis reports the following:

1239z Carrier on.
1240z Arab Music begins.
1244z Music ends, man started calling "22 222 222…" (I think he forgot the first "2" in the beginning)
1248z He stopped calling "222".
Said "Message, message, message".
Message follows (16 x 4fgs):
7496 3161 3310 0603 6582 8530 3304 1920 9177 7288 7467 4674 7787 4361 9306 3310
1249z "Repeat, repeat, repeat". Repeats the above;
1251z "End of message, end of transmission". Carrier went down.

Comments about signal strength
E25: 5-7 out of 7, lots of fading, averaging to 6/7. Also modulation was kind of "shallow". The Arab BC Station 9460 kHz: Again 5-7/7 but mostly 7/7 slower fading.
E25 IS BACK! STAY TUNED!
Manolis from Crete.

We will, Manolis, we will :-)

V02

On 3 Sept at 0340 UTC on 4479 kHz, Allen spotted a blooper from our Cuban friends. "I was monitoring a V2a broadcast on 4479 kHz; faintly in the background I could hear another woman broadcasting a separate set of numbers. I was logged onto the IRC channel #monitor, and thanks to one of the other participants, discovered that the woman heard in the background on 4479 was broadcasting on 10446 kHz! 10446 kHz was out at 0344Z and 4479 kHz was out at 0345Z.", writes Allen.

These boys and girls are famous for their sloppy transmissions, Allen and it is always nice to catch one :-)
