Cluster beacons "C", "D", "F", "K", "M", "S" were reported on cluster frequencies 5154, 7039, 8495, 10872, 16332 kHz

"D" was also heard on spurious frequency 7077.5 kHz

Channel markers:

The "L" marker has now been df'ed from a number a locations. Some of the bearings were taken by professionals. We mentioned Montenegro as possible location but it seems that it is a little further to the south. The station is somewhere in the Tirana, Albania area.

M51

M51 was heard on 4626.5, 5250 and 5377 kHz. Although it doesn't seem to be as active as it was a couple of years ago, it is still going strong.

M62

In a reaction to N&O #61 we received a note from one of our local correspondents who writes that it is highly unlikely that M62 is in Zilina "because its signal was very weak in Zilina (noise level). Also in Martin, Slovakia, the signal was weak at the same moment."

Well, it is quite possible that the actual transmission does not always come from Zilina. The station belongs to the Slovakian Ministry of Defense Operations HQ in Zilina. It transmits exercise and flash messages (like the USAF EAMs). There are stations in various locations who also (re)transmit the messages that originate from Zilina. There is at least one transmitter in Zilina. It would be nice if we could figure out where in Slovakia the other stations are. DF reports are most welcome.

Situation in July:

1732 kHz daily 24h no msg heard
3485 kHz daily 24h no msg heard
4396 kHz daily 24h no msg heard

The station uses CET (CEST). The callsigns change 3x per month at 0000 hours local time without any other message. 1732 kHz is the parallel frequency. It is not clear, since when. 6 sets of callsigns have been noted so far. Sometimes the local time is sent: = = QTR 0100 (27 June 2003 2300 UTC).
