M40

Our friends in Japan are receiving M40 quite well on 4662, 8259, and 10620 kHz.

M40 sends 5FGs messages and ends with AR AR VA VA

M63

Romanian station 'A2A' is now almost always on 4085 and 6767 kHz, with the out-stations answering on 5444 kHz. Its times are unreliable, but usually 0600 UTC and some variable time between 2030 and 2130 UTC; call-up on CW and traffic on his its unreadable variety of RTTY (speed 115.7bd, ACF 23). <info: John>

M76

M76 is back again, probably because of the changing conditions. It still uses the same times and frequencies, 0500 and 1750 UTC on 3819 kHz. The 0500 UTC transmission is stronger here in W.Europe than the 1750 transmission.

Reports are most welcome folks! I think that dxers in central Europe will have the best chance to hear them clearly. Can anyone of you please write down a couple of morning and evening messages?

The preamble, always starts with 26310, and in the centre of the preamble is sent RRRRR followed by either 202XX 206XX or 207XX, this is quite often followed by WWWWW and further groups starting with a 7. The preamble ends with NNNNN. Messages always start with 40545, and the first nine groups are significant. They are related to each of the same groups in other messages. The figures 505 always appear in the first three groups. Each message always ends 437. This has been the same for four years now. Weird! <info: CR>

L9CC

Station L9CC is still banging away with its ever lasting marker 'V CP17 CP17 CP17 de L9CC L9CC'

Heard on 7044 and 7058 kHz this month. Still unclear whether the station transmits from China or Russia. This asks for further direction finding activities. The German PTT says that L9CC transmits from near Moscow, while radio amateurs say that the signal comes from China.
