Voice stations

V24 - South Korean station

Takashi reports that the presumed South Korean female numbers stations are still active on 5715 or 6215 kHz at H+00 or H+30 during East Asian midnight. Occasionally they transmit in parallel.

E04 - Cherry ripe

Cherry Ripe experienced some problems on 27 June. A powerful pulse-type jammer interfered with CR for a few seconds at 1000 UTC on 20474 kHz. CR was completely inaudible. She resurfaced at 1023 UTC with the usual transmission until 1045 UTC. Did someone forget to switch 20474kHz on? Parallel 23461 kHz carried a normal transmission.

Russian air defence

One of our correspondents in Japan reports lots of activity of the Russian Air Defense Networks.

Frequencies used are: 4800.5(LSB), 5190(both USB & LSB), 5293(LSB), 5680(USB), 5696(LSB), 5899(USB), 6195(LSB), 6268(LSB), 6593(LSB), 6864(both LSB & USB), 7211(USB).

Albert checks in with an unid Russian station on 8728 kHz at 1105 UTC. He heard a clear ID as "...privyet, Naxodka 10" into a QSO.

S21

A note from CR learns that S21 is still on the air, but its signal is very weak signal at present. This should normally improve later in the year. S21 was heard on 14 August at 1742 UTC on 5373 kHz.
