Morse stations

Web resources

I would like to start this section with a couple of morse related links. As most of the new numbers stations are morse stations, you might be interested in learning morse code. Or just simply download a morse decoder for your soundcard.

Russian military channel markers [MX]

Rimantas reports that channelmarker 'R' from Izhevsk can be heard on a new frequency 5465 kHz. 'R' is also active on 3195 and 4325 kHz but 3322, 4558 and 5154 kHz are silent these days.

'L' from St Petersburg is still alive and kicking with its typical sound. Freq: 3337.5 kHz

Another one from Rimatas. He writes: « 555.85 kHz, CW channel marker "F". Every hour at +10...13 min. and +40...43 min. only, each time transmitting 27 to 30 letters "F". Each transmission is approx. 3 min long. SIO 444 here in my summer location in NE LTU. Possible QTH is West Russia, Kaliningrad area, Belarus or Poland. Operates only in local daytime. »

'F' is the marker from Vladivostok and my first reaction was that Rimantas had heard this station but that wasn't so. It is still not known were the station is located. It could be the same 'F' station that briefly appeared some two years ago. It was dfed during a week or so and pinpointed in Gdynia. The marker was on the air for only a couple of weeks and disappeared after that.

'P' is on the move again. Daytime freqs 4043, 4848 and 5982 kHz were replaced by 4605, 5111 and 5862 kHz.
