One of the most unusual stations of the past was 'the Spruch', a German language station that used a number of different pieces of music as interval signals, each song belonged to a 'Spruchnummer', which was most probably the agent's id.
| Spruchnummer | 1 | Schubert Serenade |
| Spruchnummer | 2 | a saxophone piece (don't know the title) |
| Spruchnummer | 3 | Brahms Waltz |
| Spruchnummer | 4 | Mexican Hat Dance |
| Spruchnummer | 5 | Atlantis by the Shadows |
| Spruchnummer | 7 | We Get Ideas by Louis Armstrong |
| Spruchnummer | 10 | Bach's Toccata in D minor |
| Spruchnummer | 17 | Red Balloon by The Dave Clark Five |
Message format:
Achtung, Spruchnummer 1, Gruppenzahl 42, Zeit 60900, Achtung Spruch Geht, followed by 42 5FG's, followed by "Ende Ende".
The time (Zeit) was a date/time group. 60900 = the 6th, 0900 hours Central European Time.
