Apart from the regulations concerning the reception of wireless stations within Great Britain advice on reporting intelligence matters also exists in the form of DA notices.
Whoever the messages, from E03/E03a, are aimed at ENIGMA 2000 has no wish to 'advertise' the existence of these stations to those who may not support the best interests of Great Britain, or its representatives abroad. Although we are unable to stop discussion of E03/E03a, ENIGMA 2000 will remain aloof from any such discussion and will not be including reports or analysis on E03/E03a.
We push off our first English station report with PoSW’s comprehensive logs:
Weekly Sunday 1830 + 1930 UTC Schedule
call always "690" and in 2006 is using similar frequencies as used in the same month in 2005
| 7-May-06 | 1830 UTC | 10,190 kHz | "690 690 690 00000", difficult copy in AM mode due to S9+ "XJT" slightly L.F., much better in USB. | |
| 1930 UTC | 8,180 kHz | second sending, strong signal, heterodyne from a carrier on 8,183. These fequencies used in May last year. | ||
| 14-May-06 | 1830 UTC | 10,190 kHz | still with "XJT" close by, "690 690 690 00000". | |
| 1930 UTC | 8,180 kHz | "690 690 690 00000". | ||
| 21-May-06 | 1830 UTC | 10,190 kHz | "690 690 690 00000". | |
| 4-June-06 | 1830 UTC | 10,270 kHz | calling "690" for a full messge, DK/GC "852 852 113 113". | |
| 1930 UTC | 8,125 kHz | second sending of "690" and "852 852 113 113", similar frequencies used in June last year. | ||
| 5-June-06 | Monday | "Next day" repeat of yesterday's full message | ||
| 1830 UTC | 10,270 kHz | 10 kHz higher than yesterday | ||
| 1930 UTC | 8,130 kHz | |||
| 11-June-06 | 1830 UTC | 10,270 kHz | "690 690 690 00000". | |

First + Third Fridays in the Month 2130 UTC Schedule
| 5-May-06 | 5,731 kHz | calling "315", DK/GC "332 332 32 32", "65478 48723 76093 65486.....". Has moved higher in frequency from the 5,197 kHz used in April. Ended after 2140z with DKDK GCGC and 5 slow, spaced "Zero". Unable so far to find another sending one our earlier or later. Couldn't find this on the third Friday, 19-May, there was a weak signal of some kind on 5,731 but local QRM prevented a positve identification.. |
| 2-June-06 | 5,741 kHz | no problem in finding on the first Friday in June, 10 kHz up on when last heard and the same call, DK/GC and 5Fs as in May, "315" and "332 332 32 32", S9 signal with the lower sideband well suppressed. |
| 16-June-06 | 5,731 kHz | started late, I had been keeping watch on a carrier on 5,731 noted at 2114z. 2130z came and went and there was no sign of E06. I had just made a note in the log "No E06" when I realised around 2136z that E06 had started up, calling "315", DK/GC at 2139z, "332 332 32 32", same message as when last heard on 2-June. |
First + Third Wednesdays in Month 2100 + 2200 UTC Schedule;-
| 3-May-06 | 2100 UTC | 11,060 kHz | "504 504 504 00000", S9 signal, lower sideband well suppressed. Carrier was up with 1,200Hz tone at 2046z, single spoken "504" 2047z - and then went off until start-up on the hour. |
| 2200 UTC | 9,160 kHz | "504", second sending. And this schedule was logged in May 2005 on the same two frequencies. | |
| 17-May-06 | 2100 UTC | 11,060 kHz | 13 kHz lower than on the 3rd, "504 504 504 00000", both sendings S9+ signals. |
| 2200 UTC | 9,147 kHz | ||
| 7-June-06 | 2100 UTC | 11,480 kHz | "296 296 296 00000", very strong signal, S9+. Carrier with tone was up at 2043z, single spoken "296" then went off around 2047z until start up on the hour. |
| 2200 UTC | 9,320 kHz | "296 296 296 00000", second sending and again a very strong signal. This schedule ran in June last year on these same frequencies. | |
| 21-June-06 | 2100 UTC | 11,480 kHz | "296 296 296 00000", both sendings very strong signals with a distinct background buzz. |
| 2200 UTC | 9,320 kHz | ||
A Thursday Schedule
| 25-May-06 | 2100 UTC | 9,210 kHz | "704 704 704 00000", S9+ signal, lower sideband well suppressed, carrier noted 2053z. |
| 2200 UTC | 7,770 kHz | "704 704 704 00000" again, also S9+, both sendings had deep modulation. | |
| 22-June-06 | 2100 UTC | 10,190 kHz | "386 386 386 00000", S9+, lower sideband well suppressed. Carrier noted while tuning around just before the hour. |
| 2200 UTC | 8,130 kHz | "386 386 386 00000", second sending, also S9+. | |
| These were heard on the fourth Thursday of the month in each case, perhaps this schedule also runs on the second Thursday. Must remember to search on 13-July. | |||

The usual schedules continue, i.e Sunday + Wednesday starting at 1700 UTC, Monday + Wednesday starting at 2000 UTC and Thursday starting at 2010 UTC. The Tuesday and Thursday transmissions heard in the UK early evening in March and for the first few days of April must have been a special purpose short duration project because neither of these schedules have been heard since - unless someone knows otherwise!
Sunday + Wednesday Schedule
| 7-May-06 | Sunday | 1700 UTC | 13,388 kHz | "301 301 301 1", DK/GC "432 103" x 2. Strong signal with better than usual mod. A bit of added interest here was the starting up of a "full message" M12 CW transmission on 13,386 kHz just after the hour, a close relative of E07, call "725" making a beat note with E07's carrier. |
| 1725 UTC | 12,088 kHz | second sending in progress, strong enough to over-ride the competion inside the 25 metre BC band. | ||
| 1740 UTC | 10,118 kHz | third sending, strong signal with good mod. These three frequencies were use for this schedule in May last year. | ||
| 14-May-06 | Sunday | 1700 UTC | 13,388 kHz, | "301 301 301 000" with M12 "725" 2 kHz lower |
| 1720 UTC | 12,088 kHz | "301 301 301 000". | ||
| 4-June-06 | Sunday | 1700 UTC | 13,468 kHz | "414 414 414 000", S9 signal with good audio. |
| 1720 UTC | 12,141 kHz | second sending. Same frequencies used in June last year, third sending in event of a full message should be 1740 UTC, 10,436 kHz | ||
Monday + Wednesday Schedule
| 17-May-06 | Wednesday | 2000 UTC | 12,218 kHz | "213 213 213 1", DK/GC "862 50" (?), low mod., difficult copy. |
| 2020 UTC | 11,163 kHz | second sending, unreadable due to very low mod., could just make out the "213" of the call-up. | ||
| 2043 UTC | 9,344 kHz | third sending - probably! Severe BC QRM inside 31 metre band plus low mod. equals unreadable! Went QRT 2047 and 35 seconds UTC. | ||
| Not the same frequencies as those used in May last year which were 15,638 + 13,872 kHz - I only ever logged "000 000" in May 2005 so only two frequencies recorded! | ||||
| 24-May-06 | Wednesday | 2000 UTC, | 12,218 kHz | "213 213 213 1", DK/GC "862 50" x 2, same as last week. Mod low but much more readable than on the 17th. |
| 7-June-06 | Wednesday | 2000 UTC | 13,376 kHz | "319 319 319 1", DK/GC "862 50", strong signal, better than usual mod. |
| 2020 UTC | 11,103 kHz | "319" and "862 50", strong signal, good mod. | ||
| 2040 UTC | 9,928 kHz | third sending, again strong signal with good modulation. This schedule has now fallen into line with the other two in that it is now using the same frequencies as in the same month last year, these were used in June 2005. | ||
| 12-June-06 | Monday | 2000 UTC | 13,376 kHz | the good modulation didn't last long! Presumably the first sending of "319" schedule, no audio heard. |
| 14-June-06 | Wednesday | 2026 UTC | 11,103 kHz | second sending of "319" in progress, much better mod. than that heard from the first sending on Monday |
| 2040 UTC | 9,928 kHz | "319 319 319 1", DK/GC "862 50" x 2, unchanged from when heard on the 7th. | ||
Thursday Schedule
| 4-May-06 | 2010 UTC | 13,368 kHz | "374 374 374 1", DK/GC "347 45" x 2, better than usual mod. |
| 2034 UTC | 12,177 kHz | second sending in progress, reasonable mod. | |
| 2050 UTC | 10,749 kHz | third sending of "374" and "347 45". The same three frequencies were used for this schedule in May of 2005 and previous years. | |
| 11-May-06 | 2010 UTC | 13,368 kHz | "374 374 374 000", both sendings strong signals with better than usual audio. |
| 2030 UTC | 12,177 kHz | ||
| 18-May-06 | 2010 UTC | 13,368 kHz | "374 374 374 000" again. |
| 2030 UTC | 12,177 kHz | ||
| 25-May-06 | 2010 UTC | 13,368 kHz | still "000". |
| 1-June-06 | 2010 UTC | 13,511 kHz | "113 113 113 000", strong signal with reasonable mod. |
| 2030 UTC | 12,115 kHz | "113 113 113 000", second sending. Same frequencies used for this schedule in June of previous years, third sending in event of full mesage should be 2050 UTC, 11,132 kHz. | |
| 8-June-06 | 2010 UTC | 13,511 kHz | "113 113 113 000" S9+ signal with good audio. |
| 2030 UTC | 12,115 kHz | strong signal but slight QRM from an FSK/RTTY signal. | |
| 15-June-06 | 2010 UTC | 13,511 kHz | still "113 113 113 000". |

| 21 June | at | 2232hrs | on freq | 3230 | FTJ with group message unable to read thru the noise. (Normally KPA freq) |
| 26 June | at | 2230hrs | on freq | 7918 | YHF2 on extended call, ended at 2348hrs |
Due to very poor reception conditions this months report contains very little and may also be a reason why no strings have been reported.

Transmission times: any time between 11.00 and 15.00 utc (and possible earlier, like 09.00z). Likes 12.00, 12.30 and 12.45. More transmissions on one day possible.
Only one frequency known: 9450 kHz, mode AM.
So far there seem to be three different voices.
Since begin May 2006 a DRM station appeared on 9450 kHz. In Europe this signal is so strong that reception of E25 is almost impossible. This DRM station is “Voice of Russia” and has a one minute test transmission at 12.03z and starts again at 12.50z. Gert confirmed this is Voice of Russia. It seems E25 receipents do not suffer from this DRM station as they have not changed frequency or starting times yet.

The logs in detail for the month may 2006
Thank you all for your logs! [Tnx E25 desk]!
[G06 Schedules across one year, via H-FD at end of NL]
The long-established first Monday in the month 1900 + 2000 UTC and twice a month Thursday 1830 UTC and Friday 1930 UTC are still with us. In May the Thursday and Friday transmissions sent four minutes of "00000", the first time these schedules hve failed to send a full message, I think. There was a schedule on Saturdays at 2200 UTC in Jan, Feb and March but I have lost track of it since. In the early summer months of previous years there was a transmission on some Saturdays at 2020 UTC on 12,210 kHz, as suggested for May in Gert's Excellent Predictions in E2K34. I have listened for this on several Saturdays in May and June, along with 10,875 kHz which has also been used but nothing heard. But then, the underlying principle which governs the entire universe, Sod's Law, may have been at work and G06 may have been around on the Saturdays on which I was unable to listen!
First Monday in the month 1900 + 2000 UTC Schedule
| 1-May-06 | 1900 UTC | 10,865 kHz | "308 308 308 00000", strong signal lower sideband well suppressed. Similar frequency used in May last year (10,850). Carrier with tone was up 1844z. |
| 2000 UTC | 8,170 kHz | second sending, underneath S9+ "XJT" but readable. Same frequency used for this sending in May 2005. | |
| 5-June-06 | 1900 UTC | 11,120 kHz | "308 308 308 00000", weak signal, unusually weak for a G06, S4 at best. Same frequency used in June last year. |
| 2000 UTC | 9,240 kHz | "308 308 308 00000", second sending, also a weak signal with all sorts of noises slightly LF, reception OK in USB mode. Again, same frequency used in June last year. | |
Thursday 1830 UTC Schedule
| 11-May-06 | 6,887 kHz | as expected a change of frequency from the difficult to copy spot inside the 49 metre band used for the past few months. "842 842 842 00000", no message, most unusual, I don't think this has ever happened before with this schedule. |
| 25-May-06 | 6,887 kHz | "842 842 842 00000", as when last heard on the 11th. |
| 8-June-06 | 6,887 kHz | a return to a more normal state of affairs in June, calling "842" for a full message, DK/GC "902 902 30 30". Was warming up the frequency just after 1800z calling numbers 0 to 9 in German. |
| 22-June-06 | 6,887 kHz | "842" and "902 902 30 30" and 5Fs as when last heard on the 8th. |
Friday 1930 UTC Schedule
| 12-May-06 | 5,943 kHz | as in previous years a seasonal change of frequency from the 5,442 kHz used in the early spring months. Similar sort of frequency to that used by the Thursday G06 in past months. Close to very strong broadcast stations inside the 49 metre band. Could not confirm transmission had started until 1933z when the G06 YL emerged from the general broadcaster racket for just a few seconds, sounded like "00000" as heard on yesterday's transmission. Was a much stronger signal when heard at 1857z warming up with a few minutes of "1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-0" |
| 26-May-06 | 5,943 kHz | "218 218 218 00000", BC QRM but a much better signal than when last heard on the 12th. |
| 9-June-06 | 5,943 kHz | severe BC QRM, difficult copy, call "218", DK/GC came well before 1934z so may have started early, "902 902 30 30", same as heard on yesterday's 1830z transmission and were the few 5Fs which could be clearly heard were also the same; on several occasions earlier this year the Thusday and Friday transmissions came up with different 5F messages. |
| 23-June-06 | 5,933 kHz | 10 kHz lower than before but still with severe broadcast interference. Call "218", unable to hear DK due to a particularly raucus bit of QRM but GC was "30" and those 5Fs which could be heard indicated the same message as previously heard in this month. Carrier was up at 1848z, only detectable as a heterodyne note found while tuning around with the receiver in USB mode. |

Chart 24 above is current from 1st May 2006 and updates Chart 24 published in NL34. This chart will remain in force until 1st September, 2006.
Subject to minor changes the current chart shows a number of additions and changes and I suggest the serious monitor should compare both charts.
For the benefit of those less serious monitors I list the changes and additions:
The 1000z sched is now Wed/Thurs. It originates the messages repeated at 1840 and 1940z Wed/Thurs. [This replaces the 0840z sched during the summer season, reverting back from 1st September, 2006]
The 1500z Mon/Tues sched is now back on the chart and can be heard on 4782//6835kHz – new freqs for this period.
The S10d S1230 also returns and can be found Thurs/Fri on 15785kHz, BC QRM permitting.
The Mon/Tues 1200z is also back on the chart on 16020kHz, sometime ago this was on the list of ALT week schedules it has changed to regular.
Many questions are still being raised regarding the Tues?wed S10d S1855 and much time and effort by a number of monitors has made me conclude this should be R [Regular activity designation].
The summer period does offer more chances to check the upper HF frequencies’, propagation being that much better. Another point to remember: On finding a new frequency, it should be checked against other scheds where no parallel is known.
It will be seen on the chart that frequencies are usually used more than once.
Concluding this report, the Saturday 0535z schedule finished with 0 4 0 not the usual 0 0 0.
Now onto my secondary chart, 25A which has been compiled in order to explain more fully the alternate week programming schedules.

11/06/06 to 17/06/06 inclusive

Over a period of time schedules have been changing to incorporate a first and third week and a second and fourth week rotation; the above chart [25A] illustrates how this has been carried out for the month of June. It will be interesting to see how they cope with the August calendar.
These schedules should not be viewed in isolation, I have covered the links with the repeat message procedures as far back as 2003 but would refer monitors to NL25 and Chart 16.
When these links are understood it is possible to predict which scheds are operational. For example I have known that the 0840z schedule had to be active for the repeats on 1840/1940z although the frequency was not known at certain times of the year. That problem has now been solved with the appearance of the 1000z sched.
To the best of my recollection this is the first occasion both time and frequency have changed together.
The first chart I produced in 2003 listed only 13 frequencies; the current chart shows 94 frequencies covering 119 schedules. I do wonder how many more can be discovered!
Thanks to Fritz Nusser and H-FD for their contributions.
Addendum:
The above reports were completed on Wednesday 28/06/06 and I had hoped that the alternate week schedules were 100% completed. Unfortunately, the Thurs/Fri 1100z schedule and its repeats [1440/1530z] did not appear. This may be a prelude of things to come in July; further analysis will be ongoing.
I have suggested in the above write up that the Tues/Wed S1855z [S10d] should be classified as regular – that is not the case, as it did not appear on the 27 & 28th June and will need futher investigation.
Over the last 2/3 months I have been trying to produce a portable RDF unit that could be constructed by someone with limited experience, the aim being to publish in the NL a unit that monitors could use.

The photographs show the prototype unit; to gauge its size the protractor on top is 4” [c100mm] diameter. [The photograph is courtesy of PLondon who has the unit for evaluation purposes and comparison with his commercial loop system].
The aerial is a ferrite rod with a coil in the centre and all enclosed in a small ABS box.
The aerial output is fed through a ¼” [6..35mm] jack plug into the tuned amp. The only controls are tuning and a gain control [high/low]. The aerial can be tuned from MW to 15MHz although two aerial units are preferred as gain drops at each end of coverage.
Using two aerials enabled the range to be extended from MW into the 10M amateur band. Using my base tuned amp and various aerials I have found they outperform my loops and give excellent deep and sharp nulls.
There is a small problem inasmuch that the tuned amp required by the aerial demands experience in construction that is probably beyond average skills. I will continue with this project in the hope that something simpler can be produced. I envisage that al parts would be available from suppliers such as Maplin with a total cost of £30.
Finally, and on a more personal note: Is Bulgarian Betty past her sell by date? Confusion abounds as she is obviously Czech!

A small correction from H-FD:
"The Weds sked for ID 475 is unusual in that it keeps same frequency all year. It is thought that it does repeat 10 minutes later, but the frequency has never been found. (Probably buried under a strong broadcast station). This sked is expected tp move one hour early in May starting at 0730..."

H-FD adises us
“Actually ID is 745. It transmits in the winter season at 0830z and in the summer season at 0730z.”

Mndbs noted
“A quick comment regarding S06! While carrying out my Friday Spy day [05/05] just gone, I noted S06 tune up some kHz below the expected frequency. This was the 10290 0930 TX and it actually tuned up on 10270 with the usual tone.
When it vanished I re-tuned to 10290 to find it starting its tx there! So this may explain the observation that it is just coming on direct. Possibly they have taken to tuning up close by the intended frequency out of concern for our tape recorders running out of tape maybe.
Thanks S06 most kind :-)”

S06 Report from RNGB, followed by his June logs:
Nothing heard of the regular Saturday afternoon ID 724 the last 2 months.
The frequencies are rather high, so it may be just down to lack of propagation (We are at the lowest point for the sun spot activity).
Or maybe the times have changed?
Still no repeat found for ID 108
The Tuesday 1630/1730 sked continues without 8s or 9s in the message.
I’ve heard nothing of the S06 slow ID 967 on Mondays, Tuesday ID 624 and Thursday ID 314
I’m wondering whether they are still active or have changed times?
There are many instances when the 3 figure group immediately following the ID is also the same as many known IDs for S06 slow.
ie. Monday 5th June at 1600 on 9256 gives ID 176 934 8 86675
934 is Friday morning ID at 0600 on 8340 kHzAlso, on Tues 6th June ID 352 at 0800 on 14373 gives 352 418 6 71435
418 is ID for Tuesday also at 0800 on 7245 kHzWeds at 0820 on 6755 ID 471 crops up on another S06 fast sked and also an E06 sked
Weds 7th June at 0840 on 10120 gives ID 328 471 6 56758
471 is Weds 0820 ID on 6755Just coincidence? Seems unlikely

And now PoSW’s analysis and logs:
Most S06 schedules noted earlier in the year are still running with the exception of the second and fourth Saturdays in the month 1600 + 1700 UTC transmission with call "724". In January, February and March this was heard on at least one of the Saturdays that it was expected to appear each month on the same frequencies as in the same month in 2005. However I could not find it in April, was on 14,910 + 12,190 kHz in Apr-05, or in May, 14,840 + 12,220 kHz in May last year. There is also a female voice version which appears from time to time, in May and June was heard weekly on Wednesdays around 2010 UTC on 9,110 kHz, not sure if this has its own seperate E2K designation but included at the end of this log.
Weekly Tuesday 1630 + 1730 UTC Schedule
| 9-May-06 | 1630 UTC | 13,540 kHz | calling "253" - this schedule has for many months now always sent a "full message" transmission, DK/GC "789 789 64 64", signal strength S7, lower sideband, as almost always with S06, well suppressed. | |
| 1730 UTC | 11,490 kHz | second sending of "253" and "789 789 64 64", sideband splash QRM from a broadcast station on 11,500 kHz. | ||
| 10-May-06 | Wednesday | 1630 UTC | 13,540 kHz | the "next day" repeats of yesterday's full message. |
| 1730 UTC | 11,490 kHz | |||
| 16-May-06 | 1630 UTC | 13,540 kHz | "253", DK/GC "946 946 67 67". | |
| 1730 UTC | 11,490 kHz | second sending of "253" and "946 946 67 67", weak signal wioth sideband splash from the BC station 10KHz higher. | ||
| 17-May-06 | Wednesday | 1630 UTC | 13,540 kHz | next day repeats, both weak signals. |
| 1730 UTC | 11,490 kHz | |||
| 23-May-06 | 1630 UTC | 13,540 kHz | "253", DK/GC "149 149 67 67", QRM from a swept carrier transmission sweeping across the frequency at a rate of around two a second. | |
| 1730 UTC | 11,490 kHz | second sending, weak signal with the usual sideband splash from 10 kHz up. | ||
| 6-June-06 | 1630 UTC | 14,460 kHz | moving higher in frequency, calling "174", DK/GC "253 253 60 60", S9 signal, slightly distorted. | |
| 1730 UTC | 12,210 kHz | second sending of "174" and "253 253 60 60", very weak signal, much weaker than first sending. | ||
| 7-June-06 | Wednesday | 1630 UTC | 14,460 kHz | next day repeat of "174" and "253 253 60 60", much weaker signal than yesterday. |
| 1730 UTC | 12,210 kHz | second sending which was stronger than yesterday. | ||
| 13-June-06 | 1730 UTC | 12,210 kHz | "174", DK/GC "357 357 63 63", S9 signal. Unable to monitor the first sending an hour earlier due to a lively thunderstorm directly overhead which suggested the temporary disconnection of all radio equipment was a good idea! | |
| 14-June-06 | Wednesday | 1630 UTC | 14,460 kHz | next day repeats. |

Second + Fourth Mondays in the Month 2015 + 2115 UTC Schedule
| 8-May-06 | 2015 UTC | 11,070 kHz | calling "130" for a full message, DK/GC "968 968 100 100", signal strength peaking S8, lower sideband well suppressed. | |
| 2115 UTC | 9,240 kHz | second sending "130" and "968 968 100 100". Reference to last year's log shows that this frequency was also used in May 2005. | ||
| 9-May-06 | Tuesday | 2115 UTC | 9,240 kHz | second sending of the next day repeat of yesterday's full message. |
| 22-May-06 | 2115 UTC | 9,240 kHz | "130 130 130 00000", signal strength peaking S9, missed first sending at 2015z on 11,070 kHz. | |
| 12-June-06 | 2015 UTC | 12,210 kHz | "947 947 947 00000". | |
| 2115 UTC | 10,220 kHz | "947 947 947 00000", second sending, same frequency used in June last year. | ||
Saturday 1600 UTC Schedule, call "108"
| 13-May-06 | 1600 UTC | 6,794 kHz | "108 108 108 00000", strength S8, lower sideband suppressed, carrier with tone noted 1544z. Although the Saturday S06 with call "724" seems to have gone this "108" continues in May, was also heard on second and fourth Saturdays in April on the slightly lower frequency of 6,788 kHz. |
| 20-May-06 | 1600 UTC | 6,794 kHz | and not just on the second and fourth Saturdays, seemingly because this is the third Saturday in May. Surprised to find a carrier up on 6,794 just before 1600z. "108 108 108 00000". |
| 27-May-06 | 1600 UTC | 6,794 kHz | "108 108 108 00000", strength S8, lower sideband well suppressed. Carrier was up 1546z, tone at 1547 and a single spoken "Adean null vosyem" at 1549z. |
| 3-June-06 | 1600 UTC | 6,794 kHz | continues in June turning up on the first Saturday of the month. Same frequency, same "108 108 108 00000". On the off chance that this might put in an appearance I parked a receiver on 6,794 around 1540z and was rewarded by a carrier with tone coming up at 1544 and a single "Adean null vosyem" a bit after 1546 |
| 10-June-06 | 1600 UTC, | 6,794 kHz | no change in the routine here, still "108 108 108 00000". |
| No sign of the second + fourth Saturday "724" S06 which in June of 2005 and 2004 was heard at 1600z, 13,970 kHz and 1700z, 11,450 kHz. It really looks as if this schedule is defunct. | |||
| 17-June-06 | 1600 UTC | 6,794 kHz | "108 108 108 00000", still not much change here, carrier came up at 1548z, a littler later than usual. |
Other S06 heard
| 23-May-06 | Tuesday | 2010 UTC | 9,260 kHz | carrier noted around 2000z, started up 2010z calling "270", for a full message, DK/GC "698 698 15 15", short and sweet, all done just after 2017z. Strong signal, slightly distorted audio, unable to find a repeat one hour later, not found on the following day. |
And the Female voice version;- [No separate designation ECL states S06 OM/YL]
| 26-Apr-06 | Wednesday | 1900 UTC | 9,220 kHz | Y.L. voice with "371 371 371 00000", both sidebands more or less equal in amplitude, not lower sideband suppresed as S06 OM usually is. Stopped 1904z so four minutes just like S06. Carrier with tone noted 1842z and a single spoken "Tri syem adean" at 1847z, so a familiar pre-transmission warm-up routine. |
| 1-May-06 | Monday | 1602 UTC | 9,256 kHz | similar YL voice to that heard above, calling "176" for a full message, weak signal, difficult copy, DK/GC "405 405" (?) "8 8" (?), very short message, the "nolls" of the ending distinctly heard just before 1606z. |
| 17-May-06 | Wednesday | 1909 UTC | 9,110 kHz | unusual start up time, 9 minutes after the hour. Calling "371 371 371 0 0 0 0 0", the "noll"s spaced noticeably, stopped 1913z. Carrier noted 1904z, single spoken "371" about a minute later. |
| 24-May-06 | Wednesday | 1911 UTC | 9,110 kHz | found in progress with "371 371 371 0 0 0 0 0 "- spaced "noll"s, stopped 1913z so must have started 1909z, just like last Wednesday. |
| 31-May-06 | Wednesday | 1909 UTC | 9,110 kHz | a weekly schedule starting to become apparent here, still the H + 9 minutes start-up and still the same "371 371 371 0 0 0 0 0". |
| 7-June-06 | Wednesday | 1910 UTC | 9,110 kHz | this one continues in June, same frequency and almost the same time; started 10 minutes past the hour instead of 9 which was the norm in May and also came up with a full message for a change, albeit a very short one. Carrier was up at 1907z although was not there when checked a couple of minutes earlier. Call still "371", DK/GC "258 258 6 6", just six 5Fs as doubles which as far as I could make out, bearing in mind the weak signal and unusual pronunciation compared with the more usual S06 OM, were;- "57768 74690 45554 33225 66554 29703". All done by 1915 : 30s UTC ending with DKDK GCGC and 5 x "Noll". Not heard at the same time on the following day. |
| 21-June-06 | Wednesday | 1910 UTC | 9,110 kHz | "371" and "258 258 6 6", same as on the 7th, I clean forgot to listen for this one last Wednesday, the 14th. |

PoSW kicks off with analysis and logs:
The S10d Czech YL continues much as expected on the same frequencies as in the same month in previous years. But the most noteworthy observation with this one is the use of single sideband suppressed carrier mode exclusively. Or at least I havn't heard an S10d in any mode other than SSB (upper) suppressed carrier since late April. S10d was usually heard in the AM with lower sideband suppressed mode, i.e. USB with full carrier which meant it was AM compatible and could be heard on an AM receiver, with the occasional transmission in suppressed carrier mode. It must mean that all of S10d's indended recipients are now equiped with receivers which incorporate a carrier insertion / beat frequency oscillator. One disadvantage of all this to the number stations monitor is that there is no tell-tale carrier up on frequency before the start of a transmission although there is sometimes a few seconds of tone. Come to think of it, this was the path trodden by the now long gone E05 American Accent YL who was on for many years in USB with carrier, then in USB suppressed carrier for a couple of years before retiring in late 2003. I think the S10d related M10 Morse transmissions have gone along the same route; I have got somewhat out of touch with M10 in recent months but I am sure that at one time the mode used was constant carrier, keyed audio tone but the few M10s I have heard in the past few weeks all appeared to be sent in SSB SC with the receiver S meter dropping back towards zero in the gaps between the elements of the Morse characters owing to the absence of a carrier.
Schedules operating in the last two months include the following;-
| Tuesday + Sunday | 2050 UTC | 8,175 // 9,985 kHz | changed as of 2-May from 6,894 // 7,745 used in March and April. 8,175 usually gives the best reception of the two frequencies, 9,985 being towards the HF end of the 31 metre band suffers from broadcast station interference. |
| Saturday | 1520 UTC | 7,745 // 9,165 kHz | as of 6-May changed from 8,175 // 9,985 used in the winter and early spring months. |
| Saturday + Thursday | 0600 UTC | 9,385 // 11,416 kHz | wide variations in signal strength on both frequencies from week to week. As from the first week of May 9,385 replaces 9,985 used in April. |
| Saturday + Thursday | 2130 UTC | 7,475 // 9,165 kHz | as of 4-May changed from 5,473 // 6,894 used in March and April. 7,475 is, as noted in previous years, co-channel with an S9+ broadcast station and as a result is often only just readable. |
| An alternate (?) Wednesday schedule at the somewhat unusual and easy to overlook start-up time of 1855 UTC, 13,405 // 14,445 kHz. When heard on 7-June both frequencies were strong signals peaking well over S9. | |||
| Monday + Tuesday | 0540 UTC | 9,369 // 13,405 kHz | always comes up with two 5F messages. Wide variations in signal strength from week to week with 9,369 in the 31 metre band often flattened by a broadcast station. |
| Monday + Tuesday | 1740 UTC | 8,190 // 13,502 kHz | as of 1-May changed from 6,945 // 10,582 used in March and April. Always has the same two 5F messages as on the 0540 UTC transmission. 8,190 kHz is usually by far the strongest signal of the two frequencies with 13,502 often only just readable. |

“Is it just me or do the number groups in S10d seem very similar often?”
The answer came from AlphaVax who kindly answered as shown below:
I think this one is encrypted partially or fully by the means of a codebook!
Look at the following facts:
Groups 6 & 30 & 31 : 61551 61516 61536 <-- nearly analog by the means of '615' ! 21887 11355 71737 21336 51370 <-- all a '1' as second figure and the last 2 similar in 2nd and 3rd figure!

Now onto logs [Mark Slaten’s splendid Current Cuban Skeds charts can be found at the end of this Newsletter.] :
V02a from PoSW in Great Britain:
| 4-May-06 | Thursday | 0538 UTC | 8,097 kHz | transmission in progress, signal strength well over S9, best reception of this schedule for some time. Ended after 0548z with 3 x "Finale". |
| 0559 UTC | 8,097 kHz | 0559 and 30 seconds;- starting up again a bit early, "Atencion, 51963 43401 46432", signal now S9+. | ||
| 5-May-06 | Friday | 0600 UTC | 8,010 kHz | starting up with "Atencion, 09781 43402 46433", with all the usual noise QRM on this frequency. |
| 6-May-06 | Saturday | 0611 UTC | 8,097 kHz | transmission in progress, strength S7. Was just a plain carrier only when monitored between 0600 and 0604 UTC |
| 7-May-06 | Sunday | two Sunday V02 schedules noted in April continue in May | ||
| 0700 UTC | 9,063 kHz | very weak signal, only just detectable, unreadable. | ||
| 0800 UTC | 7,975 kHz | starting up with "Atencion" routine but too weak to make out the 5Fs. | ||
| 11-May-06 | Thursday | 0534 UTC | 8,097 kHz | transmission in progress, signal strength peaking S9 with deep QSB. |
| 0600 UTC | 8,097 kHz | I expected the V02 YL to start up again on the hour as is usual on a Thursday. However, there was Morse on 8,097, not voice, which I assumed was a station on a nearby frequency making a beat note with the carrier on 8,097. I then realised that what was being sent was three x 5 letter group call-up which were, I think, "TIGUD RUAND MNRWD", then "TIGUD" sent 5 times followed by "= = =" and groups of 5 letters. Looks like a Morse version of V02 being sent in constant carrier keyed audio tone MCW. Some mistake surely? | ||
| 12-May-06 | Friday | 0559 UTC | 8,010 kHz | started early, call-up was in progress when tuned in a minute before the hour, "Atencion, 86211 77061 32193". |
| 13-May-06 | Saturday | no sign of V02 on 8,097 kHz when checked just after 0600 UTC. | ||
| 0701 UTC | 9,153 kHz | 0701 and 30 seconds UTC this one did show up although with a late start, "Atencion, 86212 36643 37642", signal strength peaking S7 with deep QSB. | ||
| 14-May-06 | Sunday | 0701 UTC | 9,063 kHz | started about a minut after the hour, "Atencion, 14113 34183 15543", weak signal but clear. |
| 0758 UTC | 7,975 kHz | was in call-up mode when tuned in two minutes before the hour but was a false start. Was calling "Atencion, 14113 22213 78943" but paused a bit before 0801z and changed 5Fs to "14113 34183 15543", i.e the same as heard on 9,063 earlier. Went into 5Fs after 0804z. | ||
| 15-May-06 | Monday | 0600 UTC | 9,331 kHz | "Atencion, 77123 54582 10333", weak signal. |
| 19-May-06 | Friday | 2037 UTC | 7,887 kHz | all of the V02 transmissions in the UK evening have become very weak as we move towards summer, this was only just detectable. |
| 20-May-06 | Saturday | 0700 UTC | 9,153 kHz | "Atencion, 29901 57291 23891", weak but clear. May have started early, call-up was in progress when tuned in on the hour and went into 5Fs well before 0703z. No sign of a transmission on 8,097 when checked just an hour earlier. |
| 26-May-06 | Friday | 0600 UTC | 8,010 kHz | plain, unmodulated carrier only when monitored between 0600 and 0614z. |
| 27-May-06 | Saturday | 0700 UTC | 9,153 kHz | "Atencion, 31621 44493 75243". When checked again around 0706z the voice had stopped and there was just a carrier with a slight background hum. |
| 2-June-06 | Friday | 0600 UTC | 8,010 kHz | "Atencion, 37803 11311 62343", strong signal over-riding the idling FSK carrier which often sits close to this frequency. There always used to be two V02 transmissions starting at 0600z on a Friday but I had only heard the one on 8,010 in recent times. However, the other one was on this morning |
| 0604 UTC | 9,323 kHz | transmission in progress, much weaker than the one on 8,010 kHz, difficult copy. | ||
| 3-June-06 | Saturday | 0701 UTC | 9,153 kHz | started over a minute after the hour, weak signal, difficult to hear the 5Fs, "Atencion, 57421 57293 40692"(?). |
| 4-June-06 | Sunday | 0700 UTC | 9,063 kHz | just a plain carrier, no voice when checked between 0700 to 0710z. And when checked again at 0720z even the carrier had gone! |
| 0800 UTC | 7,975 kHz | again just an unmodulated carrier, no voice. And to make matters worse a strong FSK signal came up a few hundred Hz. away. I fired up my old RTTY decoder not seriously expecting a result but much to my surprise it started printing in French, "TEST DE FDY VOYEZ LE BRICK GEANT QUE JEXAMINE PRES DU WHARF 0123456789". There isn't much plaintext radio teletype about these days but it seems as if someone in La Belle France is still using it! | ||
| 8-June-06 | Thursday | 0538 UTC | 8,097 kHz | transmission in progress, strong signal with deep QSB. |
| 0602 UTC | 8,097 kHz | starting up again a couple of minutes late with, "Atencion, 08741 11312 62345". | ||
| 9-June-06 | Friday | 0602 UTC | 8,010 kHz | another late start, "Atencion, 08742 11313 62346". And now I've typed this up I've just noticed that each of these three 5Fs is one digit up on the those heard yesterday morning. No sign of the V02 on 9,323 kHz which was on last Friday. |
| 10-June-06 | Saturday | 0700 UTC | 9,153 kHz | started the "Atencion" routine just after the hour, stopped after a few seconds then plain carrier until 0703z; voice came back then went off again, finally managed the call-up around 0704z. "08743 06071 26751". |
| 11-June-06 | Sunday | 0700 UTC | 9,063 kHz | "Atencion, 90541 52912 28132". |
| 0800 UTC | 7,975 kHz | "90541 52912 28132", same as earlier. | ||
| 12-June-06 | Monday | 0600 UTC | 9,331 kHz | "Atencion, 13693 03481 76023", good signal. |
| 15-June-06 | Thurday | 0541 UTC | 8,097 kHz | transmission in progress. |
| 0600 UTC | 8,097 kHz | 0600 UTC, just before, starting up again with "Atencion, 75161 28601 56682". | ||
| 17-June-06 | Saturday | 0701 UTC | 9,153 kHz | started about a minute past the hour, "Atencion, 28065 06072 26753". Not very strong this morning, S5 at best. |
| 21-June-06 | Wednesday | 0602 UTC | 8,010 kHz | started late, "Atencion, 66973 57681 70601", good signal peaking S9. |
| 22-June-06 | Thursday | 0539 UTC | 8,097 kHz | transmission in progress, strength S8, ended with 3 x "Finale" just before 0548z. Expected this to start up again on the hour, or soon after, but was just a plain un-modulated carrier when monitored several times between 0600 and 0615 UTC. |
| 23-June-06 | Friday | 0600 UTC | "Atencion, 66974 73151 70602" | |
