Apart from the regulations concerning the reception of wireless stations within Great Britain advice on reporting intelligence matters also exists in the form of DA notices.
Whoever the messages, from E03/E03a, are aimed at ENIGMA 2000 has no wish to 'advertise' the existence of these stations to those who may not support the best interests of Great Britain, or its representatives abroad. Although we are unable to stop discussion of E03/E03a, ENIGMA 2000 will remain aloof from any such discussion and will not be including reports or analysis on E03/E03a.
After some silence E05 is back with us; AnonUK heard E05 and sent this message to ENIGMA2000:
"E05 is back with us, on at present on 8110 calling 652" then following up with the second frequency.[Thanks AnonUK]
PoSW wrote to say that he too listened for E05 and discovered that carriers were up as early as 1030z on 8110kHz and its parallel freq of 10583kHz. PoSW also noted the nearby XJT which causes some concern.[Tnx PoSW]
A listing of E05 freqs can be found on: http://www.cvni.net/radio/skeds/output/E05.deprec.txt

On 01/10 PLondon lugged his RX out during his lunch hour to discover that the signal on 8110 was S9+ whilst the //10583kHz was below par and smothered by a noisy signal on top of it. Deliberate or just one of those things?
Recently, 22/10, PoSW wrote that he had lost track of the 1200z E05 on 8,110 // 10,583 kHz noting that it did not seem to be around on Saturdays and Sundays and there was no sign of any other E05 schedules.
Peter then followed up with a ‘flash’ message to E2k that stated:
LATE NEWS ITEM!! :- TWO KNOWN E05 FREQUENCIES, 8080 & 8110kHz NOTED THIS MORNING, SAT 25th 0715z S9+ CARRIERS MOD WITH 1016Hz TONE, BOTH WENT QRT 0729z
This is definitely worth keeping an eye out for – Thanks for this message PoSW.
Voice Variant:
RNGB caught an English number station at1700z 11/09 on 8170kHz (lsb well suppressed). He had never heard this OM before and asked if it was E20?
Like myself he had never heard E20. [two messages, different recipients, messages in different voices].
This sent a dual message; ID '671' repeated for 4 mins then 840 (35 groups); '671' repeated for short while then 928 (30 groups) each group repeated once.
The second message broke down half way through, '671' repeated, then message continued from break, ending 928x2 30x2 00000. RN GB recorded the whole transmission on tape sending both ENIGMA 2000 and Ary a 1 min sound clip for identification purposes.
The station has since been identified as a voice variant E06 and will be noted in the control list.
[Thanks to AnonUK, MikeL, PLondon and RNGB with the identification of this variant].
The sound sample can be heard in the Files Section, Sound Samples as 'E06 voice variant.

Of the usual E06 PoSW writes, "The E06 English Man continues to be busy; the Saturday 1230z + 1330z which was a regular schedule for several years seems to have gone - I havn't been able to this one since July. If it is still around it must be either a very weak signal or hidden inside the broadcast bands. However, there is a schedule running on the second and fourth Saturdays in the month at 1400z, repeated 1500z; and furthermore has been noted with two seperate transmissions on at the same time with the same DK/GC but a different call, most bizarely on Saturday 11-Oct at 1500z when the two seperate E06s were logged with the same message and were mixing with each other."
PoSW's E06 log:
| 28-Aug-03 | Thursday | 2211z | 9,060kHz | transmission in progress, strong signal, slightly distorted speech, lower sideband suppressed, ended a few minutes later with "230 230 55 55 00000". |
| 29-Aug-03 | Friday | 2200z | 9,060kHz | call "597", DK/GC a repeat of yesterday's "230 230 55 55". |
| 13-Sept-03 | Saturday | 1400z | 14,978kHz | E06 calling "109", DK/GC "234 234 65 65", signal peaking S9 but with deep QSB, lower sideband well suppressed. |
| 1500z | 12,208kHz | repeat of "109" and "234 234 65 65", weaker than the first sending, S6. | ||
| 27-Sept-03 | Saturday | 1400z | 14,993kHz | "109" and "837 837 64 64" |
| 1500z | 12,208kHz | repeat of "109" and "837 837 64 64". Strong signal, lower sideband well suppressed. | ||
| 1506z | 10,290kHz | another E06 running at the same time as the one on 12,208kHz,; and when it ended at 1515z it did so with the same DK/GC as the one on 12,208, i.e. "837 837 64 64 00000", although a check with two receivers had shown that the two transmissions were not running in parallel. | ||
| 28-Sept-03 | Sunday | the next day repeats of yesterdays transmissions running at the same times, two different calls but each with the same DK/GC;- | ||
| 1400z | 14,991kHz | "109" and "837 837 64 64". | ||
| 1500z | 12,208kHz | |||
| 1400z | 12,190kHz | "917" and "837 837 64 64". | ||
| 1500z | 10,290kHz | |||
| 1851z | 10,220kHz | E06 transmission in progress, weak signal, difficult copy due to heterodyne from a carrier a few hundred Hz away, ended just before 1901z with "328 328 157 157 00000". | ||
| 1930z | 7,780kHz | call "690", DK/GC "328 328 157 157", a repeat of the E06 noted on 10,220. Much stronger signal, S9 with the lower sideband well suppressed | ||
| 1-Oct-03 | Wednesday | 2100z | 6,950kHz | "731 731 731 00000", very strong signal with lower sideband well suppressed. |
| 2-Oct-03 | Thursday | 0623z | 15,880kHz | early morning E06 in progress, signal strength S7 with deep QSB, lower sideband well suppressed, ended 0633z with "326 326 149 149 00000". |
| 5-Oct-03 | Sunday | 1930z | 6,860kHz, | "690 690 690 00000", good signal, lower sideband well suppressed, carrier noted approx. 15 minutes earlier. E06 schedule with call "690" was noted on Sunday 28-Sept on higher frequencies, see above. |
| 11-Oct-03 | Saturday | 1402z | 15,920kHz | E06 in the middle of call up with "891", then "837 837 64 64" - a message with this DK/GC was also heard on Saturday 27-September, see above, S9+ signal, some QRM from FSK signal slightly LF, removed by copying E06 with the RX in USB mode |
| 1500z | 14,478kHz and 13,910kHz | two E06 transmissions with different calls, "891" and "547" but both had the same DK and GC, "837 837 64 64", as with the earlier transmission - and they were mixing with each other. Strong carrier on 14,478 had been noted around 1445z and 13,910kHz, about 5 minutes afterwards. Monitoring both carriers on two receivers just before 1500z when audio tones came up on both frequencies at the same time seemed to indicate parallel working. The fun began a few seconds after 1500z when the English Man started up with calls "891" and "547" - both calls could be heard on at the same time on each of the two frequencies, one overlaying the other although "891" was the loudest on both frequencies. As the transmission progressed to the DK/GC of "837 837 64 64" the two transmissions were almost in parallel - but not quite! Listening to both transmissions at the same time gave a strange echo effect. Even stranger was something heard on 14,478 shortly after being tuned in; three times, quite distinctly, there was the sound of a strident chord from a piano; and I am sure it was that noise you get with from a PC running Windows 95 when one does something not very clever and an error message pops up on the screen. Some of us who are not too well versed in computers are quite familiar with this sound! So perhaps we can infer from this that E06 and related number stations are controlled by Windows 95 software! | ||
| 12-Oct-03 | Sunday | the next day repeat of yesterday's transmissions but with none of the problems noted yesterday:- | ||
| 1400z | 15,920kHz | "891" and "837 837 64 64". | ||
| 1406z | 17,455kHz | transmission in progress, ended with "837 837 64 64" at 1415z, must be the first sending of the other E06 schedule using this DK and GC | ||
| 1500z | 13,910kHz | "891" and "837 837 64 64" and on at the same time, 14,478kHz, "547" and "837 837 64 64", both transmissions quite seperate, no mixing. | ||
| 1930z | 6,860kHz | "690 690 690 00000", strong signal, was also noted last Sunday. |

AnonUK kindly notified us of the E07 afternoon fixtures for Sunday and Wednesday and remarked that it "Seems a bit silly to use that 13828 frequency with so many high power BC stations on there." PoSW also offered the same information and logs.
[This high freq use also been noticed with other stations too, notably the Polytones].

Bold Print Denotes Repeated message. <> Denotes From - To. No Change To Schedule Heard
Reception during the first half of September has been very poor at this location here in Kent
| 15 Sept | At 00:45 hrs SYN2-2 heard calling on 6.912 normal procedure ending at 00:50 hrs (New one for me) |
| At 23:36hrs on Freq 5.091 two stations transmitting different groups at the same time. Normally JSR is heard on this freq | |
| According to my log at 23:30hrs on the 15 Aug last month it was JSR & ART doing the same thing, unfortunately this time I was to late to hear the opening calls. | |
| 24 Sept | SYN2 switched to freq 7.811 & 5.230 for the 00:45 transmission (Normally occupied by CIO2) but it was back to normal with CIO2 on the 01:45 hrs transmission. At 02:45 it was SYN2 again but only on 7.811. |
| 27 Sept | At 21:00 on 4.270 PCD1 Transmitted its 5mins call, no group message. (Last reported heard by RN GB on the 17 June on freq 8.805) |
Thanks to J6m A frequency that is not often reported : EZI on 15.980. I will add this to the ever increasing freq list.
A Big thankyou to JC Malta for his extensive E10 logs for Sept of which I append here, I have re-arranged his lists to make for a more easier reading and saving of space and have highlighted the repeated group messages. I hope this meets with your approval JC. JC 's overall reception was reported good

MIW
On November 2001 when I first began listening to E10 transmissions, MIW2 was regularly heard and still is, on various frequencies transmitting at 15 mins past the hour for 5mins with nothing said other than the call sign. On the other hand, MIW was to become in comparison a rare event. According to my logs, in Jan 2002 MIW sent a G26 message on 4 occasions, in March 2002, a group 35 message. In Aug 2002 it was heard 3 times, groups 37,33,20. And the last time I heard MIW was on Sept 10th 2002 sending a group 16 message. [In all 9 times in one year].
So it was with much pleasure that on 3 Oct this year at 20:15hrs that I picked up MIW transmitting on 7.605 for 5min with no group message. Better still on the 7th Oct at 17:15 hrs was MIW transmitting on 6.930 & 7.605 a group 15 message which it repeated 10 times finally ending at 18:22hrs. Conditions were not that good but I managed to logged the transmission and also recorded it. In all 10 times in one day.

SYN2 Seems to have temporary? dropped Freq 6.912 one of its better freq's, having not heard a transmission on that freq since it made the change on the 5th Oct to 3.640
Other stations who changed onto previously used freq's were SYN2 3.640, CIO2 4.360 & 5.170, MIW2 4.780 and PCD on 6.270. New freq's not previously recorded by me were VLB2 3.360 & 8.127 and KPA2 on 7.690.
Again many thanks to JC Malta for his October Logs.

"Concerning the E11 message mentioned in NL18, and the first and last group of it being 77777. This is nothing new, as the morse side, M03 has been sending that for at least 3 years.
The 77777 group is sent by M03, only when the message GC is between 30 and 37. The other messages sent by M03 with a GC in the 50s, does not have that 77777 group in it. I did notice some time ago, that with the messages in the 50s, the same message was repeated one year later, but I do not think they do that now."

This station is back! AnonUK emailed 02/09 to report, "E25 was on today for certain, a better signal than Saturday 30/08, but still not very strong."
Manolis, Crete posted via the group:
9450 kHz (you know that) Tuesday 2/9/03
1239z Carrier on.
1240z Arab Music begins.
1244z Music ends, man started calling "22 222 222…" (I think he forgot the first "2" in the beginning)
1248z He stopped calling "222". Said "Message, message, message".
Message follows (16 x 4fgs):
7496 3161 3310 0603 6582
8530 3304 1920 9177 7288
7467 4674 7787 4361 9306
3310
1249z "Repeat, repeat, repeat". Repeats the above
1251z "End of message, end of transmission". Carrier went down.
Comments about signal strength:
E25: 5-7 out of 7, lots of fading, averaging to 6/7. Also modulation was kind of "shallow".
Arab BC Station 9460 kHz: Again 5-7/7 but mostly 7/7 slower fading.
[Tnx Manolis].
The Arab station on 9460kHz is Radio Turkey and probably not a pointer to E25.
At 1246z on 14/10 PLondon received a telephone message from Mike of Kent suggesting that he listen to 9450kHz.
Mike had found E25 active with an apparent null message of 725 74 [or 72]. This continued until 1250z when ML and PLondon both heard the transmission terminate with a sharp burst of data. The condx were very poor at both MoK and PL’s QTH with an average noise level of at least S5.
| 9450kHz | 1246z | 14/10 | [725 74 (or 72)] MoK/PLondon |
Manolis [Crete] had another success on 26/10 which he notified via group:
9450kHz 1245z 26/10 AM mode.
1240z Carrier.
1245z No music intro, Arab man calling "780".
1248z "Message" x3. Message of 13 4-figure groups follows:
9394 3531 6210 1467 6518
5690 2666 5481 4555 7854
3353 8560 6210
1249z "Repeat" x3. Repeats msg.
1251z "End of message, end of transmission".
The audio quality was poor, I can't tell if this is due to the Solar Storm. QRM from a BC station on the same freq. The Arab man was more "professional". In the beginning I thought that the transmission was taped or synthetic like E03! [Tnx Manolis].
Manolis again copied E25 on 27/10:
| 9450kHz | 1245z | 27/10 | [Started with previous message] |
He reported, "Reception really bad... I just managed to copy some groups to be sure that it was the same msg. Even Voice of Turkey on 9460kHz was weaker than usual."
For 29/10 Mamolis wrote:
Today's conditions were better, but there is still QRM on 9450KHz. E25 came up at 1243z, calling continuously "785 10". The man stopped at 1246z.
Via group Manolis mentioned,"While waiting for E25 I played around 9450KHz and I noticed that on 9435KHz a carrier was present at 1227z, turned off and came up again, then turned off completely at 1228z. Do you think it is related to E25? Looking for a new and "quiet" freq?" The subsequent posting from AnonUK stated, "Quite a possibility." So a freq worth paying some attention to. ENIGMA 2000 are certain that E25 is not directed towards Great Britain or Europe, that we can hear it is no doubt due to propagational matters. PLondon has only ever heard the E25 transmissions with great difficulty and E2k believes that the only signals of reasonable quality to have been intercepted in Great Britain are those taken by AnonUK and which appear in the Files section as a sound sample.
That Manolis can hear the station from Crete, an altogether better location for interception of these signals, is perhaps an indication of the anticipated point of transmission somewhere in the Middle East rather than Europe.

PoSW writes, 'The G06 German YL continues with her alternate Thursday 1830z schedule with a repeat at 1930z the next day - it is as if the usual format of this family of number stations, i.e. a transmission with a repeat one hour later on a lower frequency, has been cut in two transmitted on two consecutive days.'
In his log PoSW noted that several regular schedules are still running;-
Thursday 1830z Schedule;-
| 28-Aug-03 | 6,887kHz | calling "Acht vier zwo", (842), DK/GC "Drei funef sechs" (356) x 2, "Vier zwo" (42) x 2, same as when this schedule last appeared on 14-August. Signal strength peaking S9, lower sideband suppressed, lots of static crashes from not too distant thunderstorms tonight. |
| 11-Sept-03 | 5,934kHz | after a search to see if the Thursday G06 would turn up in September a suspicous carrier was noticed around 1820z on 5,934kHz - which happens to be similar to the frequency used by the Friday 1930z G06 schedule during the summer months. Sure enough the German YL started up - although at 1829z, a minute early! - with call "Funef seben neun" (579), DK/GC "Drei eins sechs" (316) x 2, "Vier vier" (44) x 2. This frequency is inside the 49 metre BC band and copy is just about impossible in AM mode but reasonable with the RX in USB mode and the carrier tuned for zero beat. Ended just after 1841z with DKDK GCGC and 5 x "Null". |
| 25-Sept-03 | 5,934kHz | carrier was noted 20 minutes earlier. A false start here, called "579" in German just after 1830z then went quiet for over 2 minutes before continuing with |
| 9-Oct-03 | 5,934kHz | still used in October with all the problems one would expect in copying a number station sitting inside a broadcast band. Call "Funef seben neun" (579), DK/GC "Eins drei acht" (138) x 2, "Zwo sechs" (26) x 2. Short message, ended just before 1839z. Should show up once more in October, on the 23rd or perhaps on the 30th. |
Friday 1930z Schedule;-
| 29-Aug-03 | 5,933kHz | calling "Zwo eins acht" (218), DK/GC "Drei funef sechs" (356) x 2, "Vier zwo" (42) x 2, the same as when this schedule was last heard on 15-Aug. The voice was of higher pitch and with a more rapid speed of delivery than is usual for G06 - although this peculiarity has been noted before with the Friday 1930z G06. |
| 12-Sept-03 | 5,442kHz | has moved to this lower frequency as expected since this has been the routine in September of previous years. Call "Neun vier seben" (947), DK/GC same as last night's 1830z G06, "316 316 44 44". Carrier was up nice and early at 1851z, transmission started exactly 1930z, good signal, lower sideband well suppressed. |
| 26-Sept-03 | 5,435kHz | a bit lower in frequency, "947" and "316 316 44 44", same as when last heard on 12-Sept. |
| 10-Oct-03 | 5,442kHz | call "Neun vier seben" (947), DK/GC as last yesterday's 1830z transmission, "138 138 26 26". Strong signal, lower sideband well suppressed, normal piched voice and speed of delivery. Should appear once more in this month; will probably move to a frequency somewhere in the region of 4,792kHz in November - observed in previous years - and remain there throughout the cold, dark days of winter. |
First Monday in the Month Schedule;-
| 1-Sept-03 | 1900z | 8,174kHz | call "Drei null acht" (308), DK/GC "Vier zwo seben" (427) x 2, "Eins null acht" (108) x 2, so a full message format - the first since June. Signal strength S5 to S6 and both upper and lower sidebands seemed to be of about the same amplitude; this is unusual for G06, usually the lower sideband is suppressed. |
| 2000z | 6,835kHz | repeat sending of "308" and "427 427 108 108", again with both sidebands. |
| 2-Sept-03 | Tuesday | 1900z | 8,170kHz | because the first Monday in the month G06 was of the "Full message" variety there is a repeat on the following day, so "308" and "427 427 108 108" again. Repeated 2000z, 6,835kHz; and again, both of these next day repeats were equiped with both upper and lower sidebands. |
| 6-Oct-03 | 1900z | 6,868kHz | "308 308 308 00000", carrier was up at 1845z on 6,865 kHz - the frequency used for this first sending in October last year then QSYd to 6,868. | |
| 2000z | 5,210kHz | second sending of "308 308 308 00000", this frequency was used for the second sending in October last year. Both transmissions had both upper and lower sidebands as did September's first Monday G06. |
Sunday 2020 z Schedule;-
| 21-Sept-03 | 9,375kHz | 2022z | found in progress with call-up "Neun vier drei" (943) at 2022z, then DK/GC "Eins sechs drei" (163) x 2, "Vier acht" (48) x 2. Very strong signal inside the 31 metre BC band, some sideband splash QRM from a broadcaster, much reduced by using the receiver in USB mode. This Sunday 2020z schedule appeared on 13,380 kHz on several occasions during the summer months. Not found on the following Sunday, 28-September. |

Before we move onto the Slavic Station logs DoK, our Slavic Desk, writes:
Once again we are again at a time of major changes in Frequencies and, as with chart 7 in the last Newsletter an amended chart will have to be issued mid-November.
I expect that on the 1st November there will be changes in Frequencies but I hope the times of schedules will remain roughly the same.
Only minor changes have occurred since the last change on the 1st September 2003.
Chart 8, which follows, should be filed for future reference.

| 9166kHz | 1820z | 02/10 | 749 1 [rptd] 7450 141 ~ text ~ 000 000 |
No separatives used and quite fast. Confirmed by AnonUK as M12 and heard again as:
| 8175kHz | 1640z | 07/10 |
| 1640z | 14/10 | |
| 1640z | 21/10 |
This time and frequency had been used by M10 [family 1XA] but moved to 11417kHz. M12 is family 1B. Does this suggest that these two transmissions are linked and come from the same stable?
| 5945//9369kHz | 1800z | 09/10 | M10 changed its message format from a two message format to a one message format. It remain a one message format to the date of writing. |
| 13406kHz | 1530z | 10/10 | [ended 1540z] Repeated series of 555; no message transmission. |
Acting on information received from AnonUK the following M10E was received:
| 7845kHz | 1100z | 14/10 | In progress 5-fig grps = 57 20 Hvy QRM. |
| 7845kHz | 1100z | 22/10 | 111 33170 20 33170 17 20 ~ text ~ 17 20 000 |
Repeats and the full text, although logged, is not shown.
I had the intention to give details of the early morning, mid and afternoon irregulars but in view of time restrictions and possible changes that has been postponed.
A request relayed via PLondon from RN GB resulted in my logging the following transmission:
| 8027kHz | 1800z | 12/09 | V5G HR OPC 18 QSP FR ALL GE = |
| NOW HR QRU = QRX OMW = | |||
| GB 73/88 = V5G AR SK | |||
| [Rpts not shown]. | |||
| 8027kHz | 1758z | 16/09 | |
Series of v’s then at 1800z a repeat of that shown above.
[A mixture of terminology suggests the operator was perhaps also an operator.]
My thanks to AnonUK, PoSW and RN GB for their logs and information.
Recently whilst moving my books and shelves I selected two books for recommended reading.
Codes and Ciphers, by Frank Higinbottam BA., FLA. Published 1973 by The English Universities Press Limited; ISBN 0 340 12493 8
The Broken Seal, by Ladislas Farago. Published 1967, Random House [US] and in Great Britain by Arthur Barker Limited. [No ISBN stated]
This excellent volume covers American and Japanese Code Breakers and culminates in Pearl Harbour.
Good reading and Listening and until the next time ‘nazdar’! DoK – Slavic desk.

ENIGMA 2000 would like to thank, wholeheartedly, TraceyC for her part in scanning D’s piece in and sending across via email. Thanks to the wildcat strike by Post Office workers had TC not assisted with the article and chart you have just read it would still be on the Slavic Desk located somewhere in the Garden of England. Thanks Tracey, you’re a real gem!

PoSW mentions that the S06 Russian Man seems to be slightly less active but the second and fourth Saturday 1700z + 1800z schedule never fails to appear as his subsequent loggings show:
| 13-Sept-03 | Saturday | 1700z | 12,200kHz | the second (and fourth) Saturday in the month brings expected Russian Man activity; calling "Cheteria syem dva" (472), DK/GC the same as when this schedule was last heard on the fourth Saturday in August (23rd) "Tri syem shesht" (376) x 2, "Vosyem cheteria" (84) x 2. Weak signal at first but became stronger around 1710z. |
| 1800z | 10,210kHz | repeat of "472" and "376 376 84 84", carrier with tone was warming up the frequency at 1748z, stronger signal than first sending, both sendings had the lower sideband well suppressed. | ||
| 19-Sept-03 | Friday | 0540z | 8,165kHz | an early morning S06 calling "Deviet tri cheteria" (934), DK/GC "Syem shesht noll" (760) x 2, "Adean adean" (11) x 2, short message, weak signal with QRM. |
| 22-Sept-03 | Monday | 2015z | 10,670kHz | "Dva tri pyat" x 3, "Noll" x 5 (235 235 235 00000), signal strength S7 and with both upper and lower sidebands, unusual for S06 but has been observed before. |
| 2115z | 8,170kHz | , repeat of "235 235 235 00000", signal strength S8, also had both sidebands. | ||
| 27-Sept-03 | Saturday | 1600z | 6,992kHz | "Adean pyat adean" x 3, "Noll" x 5, (151 151 151 00000), strong signal, lower sideband suppressed, stopped 1604z. |
| 1700z | 12,200kHz | and again, 1800z 10,210kHz, the expected fourth Saturday in the month S06 with "Cheteria syem dva" x 3, "Noll" x 5 (472 472 472 00000). |

| 4-Oct-03 | Saturday | 1430z | 14,890kHz | S06 calling "Cheteria deviet tri" (493), DK/GC "Dva syem pyat" (275) x 2, "Cheteria adean" (41) x 2, strong signal, lower sideband well suppressed. Carrier with tone had been noticed earlier. |
| 1530z | 12,190kHz | repeat sending of "493" and "275 275 41 41". | ||
| 11-Oct-03 | Saturday | 1600z | 6,992kHz | "Adean pyat adean" x 3, "Noll" x 5 (151 151 151 00000), S9+ signal, lower sideband suppressed. Same routine heard on Saturday 27-September, see above. |
| 1700z | 10,750kHz | second Saturday in the month schedule, "Vosyem adean noll" (810), DK/GC "Cheteria pyat syem" (457) x 2, "Shesht dva" (62) x 2, signal strength S8, lower sideband well suppressed. | ||

PoSW noticed an interesting dk/gc on 23/10 and writes :
“0600z 11416kHz very weak signal, difficult to copy, 694 694 694 08 – a group count of 8, must be the shortest S10D message ever, I think. No apparent sign of a parallel freq since 9385 was dropped at the end of August – until today when frantic tuning found it on 9985kHz just as the transmission was finishing after 0607z. [Same freq as used in // with 8175kHz for the Saturday 1520z transmission] and 9985 was a much stronger signal than 11416.
This is the only example I have noted of an S10D frequency moving higher for the autumn; perhaps it was done just to get clear of the strong religious broadcast station, which sometimes shows up on 9385.
At 2130z 5473//6894kHz same 694 and 08 as head at 0600z. This schedule has gone downhill in signal strength in recent weeks, 5473 weak but clear, 6894 very weak, unreadable, and only occasionally detectable for a second or two at a time.”

Regarding V02 and the Spanish language YL from Cuba;- not much new to report. PoSW wrote that the usual Thursday 0500z 8,097kHz and Saturday 0600z 8,097kHz and 0700z 9,153kHz are regulars but once again signals have become much weaker in recent weeks compared with summertime loggings. One new V02 during October has been noted on Sundays on 6783kHz with a good signal starting up at around 0705z or a bit later, a short format variant which lasts for about ten minutes.
