Welcome all to Issue 17, July 2003. Once again we give tanks to all our contributors for their ongoing support, and the interesting/lively discussions on the group site

Solar activity at end of May/early June seriously affected many of our monitors, while the event on 28 June gave some interesting results in the lower VHF area during the last few days of June (but no number stations :))

2 X-Class flares on consecutive days, May 27/28^th, blacked out much of the sunlit earth with recovery times of hours in some areas and disturbed conditions lasting up to a week (thanks to <ips.gov.au> , who also circulated Geo Storm warnings/CME alerts for 29^th May, 17/18^th & 28^th June.
